Touching your preformer

May 1, 2006

I think it is good that there are laws talked about the fact that you have to remain two feet from the performer.  This is a lot more safe for the performer.  Especially in strip clubs where there a lot of drunk men, they have to have rules in order for their entertainment to stay safe.  Just because they are the entertainment, doesn't mean they can be physically violated by the public.  They are there to do a job.

Many people could care less for the well being of strippers, but if there are laws against all harmful acts, strippers should be protected as well.  Because without them, all of you horny men will be out of luck for live performances.

I am not suggesting outlawing lap dances, but that is a different story.  I just think that groping of entertainers onstage when they are practically naked should not be allowed.  If they choose to do a lap dance, it is up to them.  They shouldnt be forced to let people put their nasty hands all over them.

The outcome of Cyberporn

May 1, 2006

This course has been quite a learning experience for me, which is far from what i expected when signing up for it.  I thought i knew things about porn, but after this class i realized how ignorant i was on the topic.  I had no idea that the adult entertainment industry is the reason for many of the technical advances we take advantage of today.  There were topics in this course that i never even though of.

When i told my friend's that i was taking this course they all thought it was funny, and at the beginning so did i.  I didn't realize that i would actually learn that so much of this world is linked to pornography.  The whole idea of being in an online class was also very new to me.  The format of this course was very different than anything i have experienced.  I enjoyed being challenged to blog about many topics and to talk about many aspects of the adult world.

My favorite part of this class was all of the controversy about the topics discussed and comments from all the other bloggers.  It is very exciting to take a class about something so controversial in our society and being able to speak my mind on how i feel about it.

Porn Industry Advances media

April 23, 2006

This blog is perfect for how porn has helped to advance media as a whole.  It talks about how the industry has adopted more technologies than Hollywood, embracing home video allowing people to bring the movies to their living rooms instead of racing to the theateres.  Porn producers also realized the potential of the internet as a great outlook for streaming video and other ways to portray media.  Hollywood studios have now agreed to rent their movies out online.  To this day i think it is very interesting how media has grown so much due to the porn industry, espcially since not many people are aware of that.  I would never have guessed that myself, only to learn about it in this class.

Dear Mr. Lewis,

April 23, 2006

I dont understand how you propose that gay porn can be used as an outlook for closeted gay males, or those that are living in a small homophobic community. How does it help them on a higher scale other than pleasure?

You also state that sex is a basic element of a human being, but to many people in this world, gay sex is far from a basic element.  So many people are against homosexual's due to their religion and upbringing.  Why would mainstream culture want to incorporate gay men having sex, when our country doesnt even accept homosexuality as an idea, let alone watching them have sex on television?

Music Indecency

April 17, 2006

Why are artists creating lyrics and making songs about such indecent things as agressive sex, orgies, and agression towards women.  Are rappers running out of material to rap about, that they have to turn to big booties and "lickin' from your head to your toe."  This music is very popular in teens under the age of 18, and many songs are practically just listening to someone rap about porn.  Instead of seeing images, you hear words describing so many indecent and sexual circumstances.

The funniest part of this is how popular it has become.  People love listening to these songs that have very sexual and even disgusting lyrics, also including drugs and killing.  When these songs are played on the radio, they turn into one big mess.  Every other word is beeped out or replaced with a noise, turing a song into a 3 minute interlude of random sounds and fill in the blank lyrics.  If this happens, then the artist should probably take a hint that their music is indecent to the public and should not be made.  Sing a song about something that people actually want to listen to, inless this is the new fad, and if it is, let's hope it wares out soon.

F*ck

April 17, 2006

The cast of The O.C. swearing on camera, makes for some good indecency.

Zoning against porn stores near schools and churches makes a lot of sense to me.  Why would people argue to try and place porn shops near to schools?  There are plenty of other places to place these stores, so why does it matter if they are required to stay away from schools?

It's not like they are going to get more business being near a school, you have to be 18 to get in, and there are not many kids in middle school or even high school that are 18.  Maybe half of the seniors are 18, but most of them are underage, and it wouldn't matter anyways.  Of all places to put a porn store, next to a school makes absolutley no sense.  People need to learn to have respect and understand the rules of this zoning.  If porn is such a controversey, why try and create more problems by attempting to put porn stores near these areas.

Mail my porn

April 12, 2006

I think it is very interesting that there was a list, you could put your name on, if you didnt want to receive any thing obscene in the mail.  If it was nessicary to create a list like this in the past, look how quickly society has changed.  They said that you have no right to mail.  I had no idea that the post office could break the seals of first class mail, or any mail for that matter, if they thought it held something obscene.

Look at mail these days.  You can order porn offline and through ad's.  It is probably one of the most popular ways to get porn.  It helps the individual feel less embarrased because they dont have to go to a porn store and check out at a counter.  If it is sent in the mail, it can easily be hidden in the way it is packaged.

Societys outlook on porn seems to have changed rather quickly, and rather recently.  It has become an everyday ritual for some people, the interenet is flooded with porn sites, and we are even taking a college course to learn about the history of it.  That really proves how much of an impact porn has had on this culture.

First Amendment

April 9, 2006

I have always questioned the ways the first amendemnt worked, but now i am even more confused.  I understand that there are loop holes in every law and every freedom, but the first amendment seems to have many different perspectives to it.  Freedom of speech seems to have many limitations, and is that a good thing?

I think society has made freedom of speech gain so many limitations.  Norms have been created through the evolutions of life and people.  When norms are broken, and spoken about, it has gone to the point where freedom of speech is no longer completley true.  People have come up with sick and twisted ways that break norms of society, and become taboo.  When they are spoken about, people lash out and have very strong opinions against this.

The rights of freedom of speech have been quite confusing in deciding what is allowed and what isnt.  It seems to have been thrusted into the hands of society in deciding the limitations in freedom of speech.

Porn is only a fantasy

April 2, 2006

Everyone knows porn is only a fantasy, so no one would try to apply it to real life.  Porn is a fictional and very fake story that provides a sequence of images to provide pleasure and entertainment.  Porn is no different than movies in the box office.  You dont see alien invasions or lost kingdoms with dinosaurs in real life.  People arent trying to apply these fantasy's to real life, so why should porn be any different?

Pornography isnt real, they are just actors creating a visulization for their viewers.  No one would try to apply these acts to real life.  Fantasy's stay a fantasy, you dont see peter pan flying you to never never land, do you?  Porn is there to entertain, not to be acted out or applied to real life.

Interactive Cybersex

April 2, 2006

If you are wanting interactive porn, go buy a webcam.  Interactive, in my eyes, is being able to be apart of something and experience it hands on.  Web cam seems to be the best way to interact, without actually filming your own porn.  Chat rooms are all about hooking up, phone sex, and cam2cam.  You want to interaction, here you go.  Go to your local chat room, turn on your cam, and take your pants off.  You wont be the only one.  Someone on the other end is usually only masturbating, but that can count as porn.

As for cybersex=cheating,  i have mixed feelings.  I think anyone in a relationship that is online and having cybersex, shouldnt be in a relationship.  If you are single and it turns you on then go for it.  But if you are in a relationship, why should you need cybersex to get off?  It is ridiculous for someone to even engage in this when you have someone in person.  If your partner can't satisfy you, then maybe you have some re-evaluating to do.
